Job Description:

With ongoing growth, Vector Construction is looking for a talented Recruiting Coordinator to join our team and oversee the hiring process from beginning to end. This position will be responsible for attracting candidates, evaluating resumes, scheduling/conducting interviews, managing new hire paperwork and be fully involved in the onboarding process of new construction recruits for our division offices and projects across the U.S.

Based out of one of our offices in the Midwest (either Fargo, ND; Cedar Rapids, IA; or Decatur Il) and reporting to Senior Management, the key Accountabilities of the position are:

  • Fully manage recruitment to meet the staffing requirements of Vector’s growing operations.
  • Create/maintain a steady pipeline of potential employees to support project & management needs.
  • Contact and guide selected candidates through the hiring & onboarding process
  • Ensure completion of pre-employment requirements & paperwork
  • Work equally with the three current US divisions & support other satellite offices as required.

Additional Duties:

  • Design and implement a recruiting plan and strategy, ensuring it meets all three division’s needs
  • Consult with management to discuss staffing requirements and specific job objectives.
  • Write and post job descriptions on career websites, newspapers, universities boards, and other avenues
  • Screen and evaluate applicants
  • Conduct phone, Skype and/or in-person interviews.
  • Provide a shortlist of qualified candidates to the management team.
  • Support hiring with innovative recruiting methods.
  • Prepare new hire paperwork ensuring company and legal requirements are met.
  • Maintain a complete record of interviews and new hires.
  • Evaluate turnover rates and look for ways in each division to lower turnover.
  • Stay up to date with current recruiting methods and attend training as needed.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local organizations, high schools and colleges.
  • Working knowledge of Vector’s operations as required to recruit and screen candidates
  • Other duties as assigned by Management Team


  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet the needs of several managers simultaneously
  • Knowledge of HR policies and best practices
  • Proven work experience in recruiting/talent acquisition is preferred
  • Bi-lingual Spanish speaker would be a significant plus, but is not required
  • This position can be based out of either Fargo, ND; Cedar Rapids, IA; or Decatur, IL
  • Some travel will be required to work with other US divisions and projects
