Job Description:

The Field Supervisor oversees on-site activities and effectively manages resources in the execution of a variety of different construction projects that include concrete restoration, corrosion-related work and chemical protection of structures. This position works closely with the project manager to ensure the safe and successful delivery of projects while remaining within budget and meeting deadlines. The Field Supervisor is a personable leader who is committed to self-development and achieving Vector's overall goals and objectives.

 

Specifically, this position is responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Coordinating, managing, and performing on-site construction activities.
  • Communicating and managing the health and safety program on construction sites.
  • Managing field resources, labor and related material.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork and reports for each job as required.
  • Ensuring client expectations are met or exceeded at all phases of the project.

 

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Personal dedication to always working safely.
  • 2-5+ years’ field supervisor experience; 5-10+ years’ experience working in construction.
  • The ability to supervise team members in ways that enables them to grow and succeed through effective feedback, instruction, and encouragement.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and verbally.
  • The ability to read construction drawings and mathematical aptitude.
  • The ability to manage one’s own time, priorities, and resources to achieve goals.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more.

Other requirements:

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Some weekend, evening and/or night shiftwork may be required.
  • Some travel may be required
  • CSA approved steel-toed work boots
